A recent article in the British Medical Journal comments on a rise in the number of female doctors in general practice.
That may be good news for many women, who prefer to be examined by someone of the same sex.
But what about men? Do they stll have a prejudice against lady doctors?
I have a female GP, but I must admit that I have never even taken my shirt off for her - let alone my trousers.
I don't think an intimate medical examination by a woman would bother me though.
Let's face it - when you are ill you don't care what sex the doctor is, so long as he/she gets you better.
What is your opinion?

It doesn't bother me if it's a female doctor.
When I had to visit the hospital a few years ago to have my piles looked at it was official policy that because the doctor was male there had to be a female nurse present. Whenever the doctor was going to insert a medical implement into me the nurse had to show it to me, tell what it was called, and exactly what the doctor was going to do with it. I then had to give my spoken permission every time.
