I don't know whether it is just me but, when I am watching the TV words and numbers game-show "Countdown", I often hear contestants saying "continent" instead of "consonant".
Perhaps it is my hearing and I wonder whether other viewers have noticed the same thing.

e.g. Doesn't it say in the DB book that some Dynastic parents just make up a name by going:
constonant-vowel-constonant-vowel-constonant-vowel(repeat as desired)?
I think most of them are from foreigners - or typos.
I'm now going to make a cup of tea and watch Countdown, which I recorded while I was at work, before I go to bed
I watch Countdown most days, but I preferred Richard Whiteley as chairman.
One person I cannot stand when he is in "Dictionary Corner", is Alastair Stewart.
Many common words come up that he has never heard of - which is surprising in view of his journalistic background.
I note that he was educated at St. Augustine's Abbey School, a boys' Independent school in Kent, and he studied economics, politics and sociology at Bristol University.
Does that explain or excuse him? LOL
Des O'connor does look out of place on the show! might as well be ken Dodd!
