EASTER EGGS ALREADY IN THE SHOPS
With the post-Christmas sales still in full-swing, high street stores have already started to fill the shelves with Easter eggs.
Even though Easter is stll three months away, Woolworths is already stocking them.
Easter eggs do not usually appear until the Christmas rush is over.
Not everyone is impressed. Jean O'Brien of Brisol said: "It's absolutely ridiculous, as if anyone is going to be buying Easter eggs in December. We should just enjoy the New Year before looking that far ahead."
A Woolworths spokesman said: "We always sell Easter eggs as soon as Christmas is over, as a lot of our customers like to be organised. We've been doing this for 50 years."
Pah!
I have the same complaint about Hot Cross Buns, which are on sale in Sainsbury's on almost every day of the year. I refuse to buy them - except on Good Friday, which is the only day on which they should be eaten.
At other times the cross should not be applied and they should be described as "Hot Spiced Buns".
